This is a quick moving arcade style game a bit like umm, does anyone remember breakout? The objective of the game is to remove all the blocks on the screen by hitting them with the ball without loosing it.

The ball bounces around the screen bouncing of the walls, blocks and the paddle. The floor has a massive gap and if the ball goes through the gap you loose the ball and move onto the next ball. When all balls are gone the game is over. To stop the ball being lost and instead hitting the blocks you have a paddle for the ball to bounce of instead. The player can move this paddle left and right into the area the ball is about to land which otherwise would get lost through the floor. If that's hard to understand just give it a go and I'm sure it will make more sense in action.

Smash is an excellent 21st century recreation of a classic and is a joy to play from start to finish. The paddle moves with ease and if you are quick enough you can stop the ball being lost. However if you aren't quick enough then the ball is lost and the remaining balls are used, make too many mistakes and the words "game over" will be your new best friend. The first level is a lot easier than the rest to get you used to the game with just one hit from the ball destroys a block. After level 1 the blocks take more hits to destroy making the game more complicated. I personally haven't completed level 2 so why not have a go yourself and see if you can beat my personal best.

A great "blocktastic" game.
